What's a logline? What's a 1-sheet? Where do I go if I'm pitching animation and I can't draw for the life of me? From zeroing in on your idea to forming an "elevator pitch"; assembling the show bible to creating a presentation that perfectly articulates why and how and WHEN you will be the next big hit show to ever hit a streaming platform-- this workshop will be the power boost to your next TV idea. Join TV writer and comedian JULIA PRESCOTT who's sat in your seat many times over and lived to tell the tale. Over her 10+ year writing career, she's sold projects to Warner Bros, Disney, Adaptive Studios/Blackpills and more. This 6-week workshop will take students from idea to execution as they craft the kind of pitch documents intended to stand-out and sell.

Course Description

This 6-week writing workshop focuses on crafting, articulating and formatting TV series ideas into palatable, sellable pitch documents. Students will learn how to take a “seed” of a series idea and articulate it into the formats necessary to “pitch”.

Through a writers room-like environment where feedback from fellow students is encouraged, students will gain the tools necessary to walk away from the 6 weeks with a “pitch packet” worthy of presenting to buyers.

A pre-existing pilot script before enrolling is not a requirement, but a pre-existing series idea is highly recommended.

Time: Monday 6:00pm-8:30pm PT/ 9:00pm-11:30pm ET

Class Dates:

  • March 29th
  • April 5th
